UPM has gained a lot of international recognitions and accolades. It was named world’s 132nd best university in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2021. This is UPM’s best accomplishment in the group of 300 world-renowned universities since joining the ranking 12 years ago, and it is ranked third among Malaysia’s universities in the list.

It also maintains its position in the world’s top 100 by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 for its Agriculture and Forestry subjects for six consecutive years since 2013. UPM is ranked 13th in the world under QS Top 50 under 50, hence putting it among the top young universities in Malaysia. UPM has also been listed as the world’s top 32nd universities by UI-Greenmetric World University Ranking 2018. The Best Global Universities Ranking, U.S. News & World Report 2019, has listed UPM’s Agricultural Sciences under a subject category as the world’s top 53.
